"Poser?"
"I hate to break this to you, but if you talk big plans about your 'mission' or 'calling' but lack any forward motion, (spoiler alert) you are a massive tool. Sorry. I know it's hard. The problem is that many people do not act because they await clarity. They expect God to speak through the wind or a self-help book or the mouth of Conan and reveal the intricate details of next steps. God rarely does that." - Mark Steele, "Get a Haircut and a Real Job", pp. 48-49, Relevant, July_August 2006
Ever feel like that? Or am I the only one? Best line I've read in a magazine this year, and I want to kick his butt.

you mean we're actually supposed to work toward God's will instead of waiting for the white paper with all the directions on it to fall from heaven?

The timing of this is a bit uncanny. Without a long backstory, our church community got a lot of weird looks when we declared we felt like God was leading us to "do over" (we're a church plant). Didn't know what we were doing -- still don't really. We just know that God is directing something way bigger than us and most times we don't even know "what's next". It's hard to deny God's hand when you go from a core of 50 to almost 300 in 8 months and see 40+ lives come to know Christ and many more re-introductions.
I've gotten to the point where I don't want to know the detailed instructions, finding out along the way is way cooler.

Sometimes, you go along not really knowing what it is your doing, but just doing what you felt led of the Lord to do, and then one day, you get an email or a comment saying, You do so much for me, and for many others too, and I don't think you are even aware of it...yada,yada,yada. It is a shock to be called a blessing by someone who started out calling themselves an Atheist! But to be used of the Lord, while it is special, certainly can be a humbling experience.
